I'm thrilled that it is going to be the same size at the UY Hardcovers. Will match them perfectly.

Picked up my copy after work today (did a rare day shift, usually work evenings).

I pick up my copy (along with some Avatar: The Last Airbender, Super Dinosaur #1, and The Fifth Beatle). It's a beautiful book. Cloth-like cover! And cool interviews inside.
Peace, maka

I also picked up the new "Beasts of Burden: Hunters and Gatherers" one-shot from Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson (Dark Horse).
A very different kind of anthropomorphic series, one that I have really enjoyed reading, even the Hellboy cross-over story.

I wish I would have know you liked Beast of Burden. I donated my signed (Jill) HC collection to my local library. Then ended up selling it for $2. I should have mailed it to you instead. I'll have to send you something else when I get a chance to get to the post office.
Peace, maka
P.S. I know we have the "You cannot make another post so soon after your last" rule set to deal with spam robots. But it is unfortunate for us real dojo members. It slows down the conversations from happening on the UY Dojo. I know a lot of us use FB and other social media to communicate with each other. But our UY fandom started with this message board. I appreciate FB but I wish this on-line community to live on. Seems like (at least at 11:57 PCT) like the cure is worse than the disease.

I suspect if I get to SDCC, I'll get it from Stan in person heh.

I bought a copy of the HC Beasts of Burden for one of my nephews a few years ago, which is when I decided I liked it as well.
I adjusted the settings and shortened the interval required between posts to 30 seconds.

Thanks Steve... that long delay between posts was really discouraging. I know different forums have different settings and what-not, and I'm not familiar with the capabilities of this forum's software, but would it be possible to have different time limits for members depending on number of posts made (like: "under 20 posts, user has a 10 or 20 minute delay between postings" whereas established members have no delay, or only a brief delay), or "new member's postings require approval first" .... just some ideas based on what I've seen elsewhere.
And on topic.... picked up my copy of Ronin today...really liking the format & size!

I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon and it arrived today in the mail. A beautifully designed edition, love it!

I got my copy today and read the whole thing in one sitting (I read a couple of issues of 47 Ronin before but never the whole thing), I enjoyed it a lot. I agree that the cover design is beautiful, and the notes in the back are interesting. I'm interested in watching some of the different movie versions of the 47 Ronin story out there (the only one I've seen is one that Kinji Fukasaku made in the 1970s that I remember being pretty good), I wasn't really aware that the story exists in several different versions (It would probably be interesting to compare the version of the story used in the WWII-era version by Kenji Mizugochi with the version used in a later 47 Ronin film since they would be likely to emphasize different things).
I was a little surprised to discover that the book A Universal History of Iniquity by Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges (included in the Collected Fictions volume published by Penguin) includes a retelling of the 47 Ronin story that follows the same basic outline as Stan and Mike's version but changes some details.

I received my trade paperback edition of 47 Ronin from Amazon last week, makes a nice companion piece to the hardcover edition....
of course, the Planeta DeAgostini edition is in Spanish.

Speaking of the 1941 film version by Kenji Mizoguchi, I just discovered that you can watch it for free on YouTube.
