Long Beach Comic-con--what to bring

Post by Stan Sakai »

It is only a couple weeks to the Long Beach Comic-con in LB, California. Is there anything special you would like me to bring? I found a few copies of that UY 15 anniversary poster freebie. I also have the UY Saga books, including the new book 4 as well as Saga 1 HC. I will have some art, but will not have the time to do any commissions beforehand.

If you can please bring UY Saga #3 and #4 I would really appreciate it. Any original art would be awesome too. Will you be speaking at any panels at Long Beach?

The 15th anniversary poster is the coolest. Was it done with acrylics or oils or pastels? I loved Usagi's big smiling and walking with a water bottle. I had that poster up in my garage for years until it finally worn down. But I still have the mini version that was also used in the limited Usagi Watch case.

I hope you all have fun at Long Beach. It falls on Cheryl's birthday weekend this year, so she is the priority. Sorry Dojo. ;)

Peace, maka

Do you want the trade paperbacks or hardcovers?

I will be on two panels, back-to-back on Sunday, I believe. A Dark Horse panel on upcoming releases and an all-ages panel with David Petersen among others.

Hello Stan,

Do you have any Hardcover Saga volume 1 still available to bring?

Best Regards,

I'll definitely take a 15th anniversary poster. Do you happen to have any bookmarks laying around? Also do you still have those 200 Jizo SDCC signing cards that I didn't pick up from you in San Diego?

I hope you bring lots of cloisonné pins, as I'd like to get seven eight ten eleven.

(one for me and six seven nine ten for other Dojo members)

Just a quick update, got all the pins that were requested. I'll get in touch with everyone individually after the weekend.

Kyle, you are cool. Are you enjoying the con? I like the LBCC. It is a nice small con but you get some cool cartoonists and fun panels. Enjoy! Peace, maka

Yep, show is going well. Lots of fantastic artists and I met fellow forum member Groosagi (not sure if I spelled that correctly, maybe it's "Grusagi". Half Groo, half Usagi. :D ) who was wearing one of the "Hundreds" Usagi shirts. The show is tons easier to navigate than SDCC with far smaller crowds, but I already walked the entire floor a couple times in the one day. Today is filled with panels I want to attend, so those should keep me fairly occupied for most of the day.

Stan's booth is in a great place, with David Petersen right next to him, Travis Hanson (The Bean) and Mike Kunkel (Herobear) right across the way, and Todd Nauck behind him.

If Kyle or somebody else is willing to post a pic of Stan's booth that would be cool. I need to live vicariously through the con attendees. I enjoy scouring the pics to see what goodies Stan has out and get a glimpse at that portfolio of art for sale:)
Enjoy the rest of the con!
