17th Century Japan and 17th Century setting

This is what I know about 17th Century Japan and how relate to my 17th Century setting furry comic idea. Now We know by the 1660's Japan was a closed Island no Japanese could ever leave without be killed if they returned and are discovered they are killed out right, only contact with the outside world was restricted to island with the Dutch on it they weren't allowed to leave the Island. Understandable what happened when Western Powers caused such trouble during the last War,
17th Century Europeans did have sense of Honor if you read any Swashbuckling fiction, they did have sword schools but they were national in style But when comes to real world Honor doesn't feed the belly or fill your purse places like Port Royal reflected this fact.
One thing a Japanese Furry character would notice is that how the common person doesn't seem to like following orders or the order of the world, back home it would like a ETA trying to become a Merchant.
Most Buccaneers were people who wanted to get enough cash to become something they wanted easy coin Spanish coin,
