Do you have to buy 10 copies to get the variant? If I want one from my LCS I have to buy 9 extra copies and they'll get the variant for me. A bit expensive for a 1:10 variant, but if IDW puts out a cover I MUST have then I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll stick to DCBS and hope I get a copy for $8.maichan wrote:Oh-kay...Mayhem wrote:Just a heads up for you folks, there was posted that there will be 1:10 for issue #15. Yes, it's a 1:10, so one copy for ten regular copies.

So you guys are paying $39.99 for 10 copies plus whatever the store charges you for the variant?

You may not need to buy all 10 copies yourself, contact your store.Gaffey wrote:So you guys are paying $39.99 for 10 copies plus whatever the store charges you for the variant?
If 8 other people are already buying it then you would only need to order 3 copies from them. 2 to get the store's order up to 10 and then the 3rd would be the variant. But make sure they know that you want that variant, otherwise it may end up going to some one else (they may also need to indicate that they want the variant on their order form).

My store orders 1 copy.
None for the shelf.

That's basically what my store told me. They normally order 6. So they said if I'd cover the difference they'd order 10 plus the incentive cover. This is my first time doing this with this shop, so we'll see how it works out.

My store only orders 2 copies of Usagi in, although they are able to get the 1:10 variants for TMNT for me. However there are a couple of places here that will normally stock Usagi 1:10 you can order solus, so I've been getting them that way, including the Darrow 1:25 for issue #6.

I that case it may be cheaper for you to wait and buy it on the secondary market.Gaffey wrote:My store orders 1 copy.None for the shelf.

As in the past I'll do what I can to help with variants for Dojo members, but I get a very limited number of those. For some extremely rare variants, like the last Peach one, it is very difficult to get even when I preorder them. In the case of the Geof Darrow one, I just got a couple of file copies because so many were damaged.

Stan, what do you mean by "file copy"? It is not a term I am familiar with.Stan Sakai wrote:As in the past I'll do what I can to help with variants for Dojo members, but I get a very limited number of those. Re: Usagi #16
Dear Readers,
I think "file copies" are for Sensei Sakai to keep in his personal collection/file.
Would it be possible to put variant covers on the back of each "monthly" book ?
Enigma did this with the Dutch versions.
Thank you Sensei Sakai for the fun.
Best wishes to all.
