Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard

Hey y’all,
I wanted to see if anyone had any Ideas on how to protect paperback books. I own all the first printing saga books in paperback, and got most of them used and theres a little bit of wear on them so I wanted to protect them from getting more wear/damage as I re-read them. I know in theory just getting ahold of the hardcovers is the right move, but I prefer the look of the paperbacks, and I’m in my early 20’s and don’t really have the money to be throwing around.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks for the forward go, though I think a better wording for what I'm looking for is ways to reinforce the paperbacks so they don't get nicks or spine bends going forward as I re-read them over and over. I'm just not one for hiding them away and not using them for their intended purpose you know? If not I may just use them till the spines give and rebind them in an interesting way, but I'd rather be precautionary than reactionary.

My partner is of polish heritage, and I'm of german, so when we were driving from Portland to Seattle for a trip and saw them collecting dust in the back room at the Fantagraphics Bookstore I knew I had to grab them. Gentleman running the store was cool, took all 3 for $15. The Polish ones confused me because they were numbered 1 and 2 so I assumed they lined up with Sagas 1 and 2, but upon further investigation I realized those 2 correspond to the 2 special edition books. I might end up trying to collect the Dantes ones at some point assuming I can find a good avenue. My german is rusty, but functional with the ability to reference my english Sagas.

Thanks go! Imma have to read through that more carefully, but it looks like exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for. Honestly might end up sucking it up and shilling out for the hard covers in the end anyway though, assuming they end up printing more 2nd editions. Am I right that there is no plan on doing this and it’s just the saga 1 HC?

Josch Dantes (the current publisher of Usagi Yojimbo in Germany) is pretty awesome and he have a great subscription option on his web-site. Definitely worth checking out....
