This is in Toronto Ontario in May, on the Victoria day weekend. I am going to try my hardest to be there, but I may be moving across the country before that weekend. Hope not, don't want to miss it.....
I live in a small town next to the city of Hamilton,Ontario, Canada and I am definitly going!!! The only reason to go for me is Sakai-sensei's appearance there. I don't mind anime`{ I have a friend who is rabidly into it},but , my only reason is Stan. BONZAI!!!! Ja,mata dudes.
I'm scheduled to be there, but was a bit worried that Stan might change his mind about going because of the travel warning. I haven't read anything here yet, so I'll assume it is all still on.
Which day will be best to catch up with you Stan? I will only be in Toronto for the weekend and don't want to spend every day at the convention.
Even if the breath between us smells of alcohol,
Call it confusion in the best way possible.
Is there a webpage so that we that won't be going there can see what happened? Or at least some of the news and stuff...
Because of my location, I just can't be going there...
A cynic person is one who knows the prize of everything and the value of nothing

I'm still scheduled to be there, and the organizers assure me that it will go on. The convention is not within the city itself, but a bit outside. The pro liason happens to be a health care official and assured us that it should be fine, providing we take adequate precautions such wash hands, try not to visit hospitals, etc. There will also be health care workers around the con. Alan Greenspan indicated that the whole Toronto travel warning was more a political move by the WHO to include a Western location on their list of travel warnings. We are even staying a couple of days post-con to do some sight seeing.
Sharon and I will be arriving on Thursday afternoon and won't be returning to LA until Tuesday, so we'll be there throughout the convention. I have a couple of scheduled events--panels, signings, meet-and-greets--but otherwise, I'll be wandering the halls and dealers' rooms. You can catch me almost anytime if you have things for me to sign or just want to talk. I won't have a dealer's table so if you want me to bring anything in particular--art, a particular issue, a trade collection, cloissonne pin, etc--e-mail me or post your request on the "what should I bring" thread.
Newsflash people!!! The travel advisory has been lifted by W.H.O. It's safe to come here now!!! Screw the New York Times and their faulty{and suspect} "reporting"!!!!! They seem to have a "political" agenda. "Let's bash Canada for not going to invade Iraq with us". Where George W. Bush has yet to find ANY "weapons-of mass-destruction".{his justification for this Iraq fiasco.} So...don't believe everything you read in the press! It's safe to visit Toronto! So...come to ANIME` NORTH 2003 and enjoy!!!
