I look forward to this one.
If anyone here is unfamiliar with Taiko drums, I would recommend looking at one of the many videos of performances by the Japanese group Kodo that are available on YouTube:

I had a chance to see Kodo perform at WMU a couple years ago. Great show! I still love the Mitsubishi car commercial featuring the all girl taiko group, just wish they had given less camera time to the car and more to the girls .... Mitsubishi Taiko Commercial

Hey, that's my t-shirt!
(It was a pain in the butt getting it lined up on the scanner straight)
Speaking of which, some of those might still be available from the Yushin Daiko web-site here

WHAT?! Is that why I'm so far behind schedule? Because Diana is scheduling two issues a month?johnnyjagwani wrote:how come both of the taiko stories will come out in december - not that i am complaining, but i thought only one issue per month (tops)?
Seriously though, I have just finished roughing out the second part of Taiko, and I'm very happy with the story. Part 2 is going to run 25 pages, but I wish I had another 5 pages.

When I read the first review of the new Dark Horse Solicitations concerning the upcoming Usagi Yojimbo Taiko stories, the reviewer had left off the second release date and I was wondering the same thing. Here is the solicitation listing as posted on Comic Book Resources....johnnyjagwani wrote:how come both of the taiko stories will come out in december - not that i am complaining, but i thought only one issue per month (tops)?
the CBR News Team wrote: Dark Horse Comics Solicitations for November, 2010

These issues form both halves of “Taiko,” a special double-issue story line. A group of drought-stricken farmers commission an enormous taiko drum to show their devotion to the gods, and pray for rain. But the bloodthirsty Red Scorpion Gang threatens to destroy the drum unless the farmers pay up, so the farmers must turn to rabbit ronin Usagi to protect the drum, lest they face starvation from drought! When the Red Scorpion Gang burns down the farmers’ temple and the drum is in jeopardy, Usagi must figure out how to rescue it and fight the Red Scorpions at the same time, or all is lost!
• Special double-issue story line makes a great introduction to Usagi Yojimbo for new readers!
• Issue #123 of this Eisner Award-winning series was nominated for the 2010 Eisner for Best Single Issue!
It sure would be cool if, maybe, you could "super-size" it and release a 32 page issue.....Stan Sakai wrote:WHAT?! Is that why I'm so far behind schedule? Because Diana is scheduling two issues a month?

Oh i clearly misunderstood something then.. i just saw a post up at comicbook resources, with the dark horse solicits, and it said something like 2 issues in december... I am so sorry stan.
I think stan should be given an extra five pages, and do a double issue, since he wants to (or so it sounds).

i think my confusion began, not because of the dates (that are clearly not the same), but because both covers were shown side-by-side, in that article on cbr.com; despite the issues being released in different months..
