San Diego--what to bring

Post by Stan Sakai »

With Comic-con International just a few weeks away, this is the inevitable "what do you want me to bring" thread. If you have a particular item--print, comic, toy, art, etc--that you want me to bring and reserve for you, you can either post it here or e-mail me. Even if you ask for it here, you are under no obligation to actually purchase it.

Hardcovers are going fast, and I do not even have all the volumes available. So, if you want one of the s/n HC, you had best reserve one.

I'll also have a couple of freebies exclusively for Dojo members who ask for them--I got more of those pin-back buttons from last year. If you did not get a set, ask for one. There are a total of 12 designs. You may not be able to get all of them. If you got them last year, do not ask for them this year unless you are trying to complete a set. I also have about 40 magnetic book marks. These were to have been DH's giveaways for last year's SD Con, but they were not ready in time. I don't know if DH will be giving these away. Both items are first come, first served with no reservations.

My booth location is the same as last year--#4906.

OO! OO! OO! *Waves hands, jumps up and down*

Umm.... lessee.... three sketchbooks (2006), two (if possible) copies of "Shell Shock", and... ummm... ack!..... oooooo.... dang-- if you have any old pictures you drew of Usagi and Leonardo that aren't like hundreds of dollars lying around gathering dust and needing a buyer, then one of those.

But definitely the sketchbooks and the Shell Shocks...

:D

Kind of made me curious, what is the status of the original art for the Usagi / Leonardo cross-over stories? And the same question concerning the original art for the forthcoming TMNT pin-up? Are these pages for sale? Any word yet on which issue of TMNT the pin-up will be in?

Thanks,
Abayo.....

What's in Shell Shock? I don't own it, so I might be interested in it :)

There's a Usagi/Leonardo story called "the Treaty"-- plus it's a ton of turtle stories by various authors/artists and I think the purpose was to raise money for reading programs and promote literacy....

I still have those cross-over stories, but don't plan of selling them anytime soon.

The up-coming pin-up is already in the "for sale" pile. I took it to Anthrocon, but no one bought it. It should be in Tales of the TMNT 25. The art features all four Turtles and Usagi fighting a mass of tentacles. It would make a nice inspiration for a story if we ever do another crossover.

Put me down for an issue of Shell Shock please Stan, and if I have enough money I might be interested in the TMNT/Usagi pin-up :)

You hadn't heard?

Yes, I'll be at San Diego this year with (girl)friend in tow Kris from Chicago as she wanted to have some fun (well overdue on her part) and meet Terry Moore (creator of Strangers in Paradise).

Terry and Robin are wonderful people. I see them in passing at cons, but we got to spend a bit more time together at the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Awards weekend a few years ago.

Make sure you introduce yourself to us, and take part in the Dojo group photo (probably Saturday).

We'll be there for all four days, so I'll no doubt be popping round to the booth each one to say hi :)

Maybe I'll save the Albedo Usagi t-shirt until Saturday then...

I am a big fan of tentacles, remember us when Tales of the TMNT 25 will be released.
