Mega-Con

I'll be at Mega-con in Florida mid-February.

I've already gotten a couple of requests for things to bring. Is there anything else anyone wants?

There will not be an ACTOR/HERO auction as there have been in past years. Instead, Mega-con will have small fund raisers. I've been assigned the "Have lunch with___" event. I think it will be an e-bay auction with a lot of creators taking part. The winner bidder gets lunch with that artist and a drawing.

As it turns out, I will not be at the New York Comic-con the following week. I will be in NY the week after, but strictly as a tourist.

Thanks for the heads up.

See you there,

Great. I'll sign whatever you have, time permitting.

I hope to see you there.

The MegaCon lunch with (insert name here) is on e-bay:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dl ... age=search

You don't have to pay for shipping, but you do have to be present to claim your prize.

...and it's gone. And only for $75! That's quite a bargain. Enjoy lunch "factionzero"

And I'll make sure the winner gets a very nice drawing.

Is it anyone here on the Dojo?

Not me.

And I think Hero Alliance underestimated the demand for the lunch.

"Buy it now" for $75... ????

They would have gotten more money if they had a straight up auction.

My schedule at MegaCon seems pretty light. I am doing a presentation on Saturday 1:00-1:50 in Room 315A.

Otherwise, I will be at my table, or at the lunch.

It was an honour to shake your hand Mr. Sakai.

After I got home I found a frame and immideatly hung the sketch you made for me in my room. :)

I still can't believe you let me handle your camera for you. I nearly plotzed.

Thank you.

I had a great time at MegaCon.

A few highlights:
Shared a cab from the airport with Lou (the Incredible Hulk) Ferrigno
Met Bob Bolling, artist of Little Archie
Having a "street" named after me
Dinner with John H's posse at Gloria Estefan's restaurant, Bongo
Met the very lovely Amy, and received another piece of Amy Art
Met a lot of Dojo members

Hopefully, I'll have time to write a detailed Con Report later.

The street thing was funny. I couldn't find you for the life of me. After we finally found you, my wife pointed up to the big 400 sign that said "Sakai Street." Needless to say she mocked me a bit, but it was all in fun.

My daughter and I greatly enjoyed meeting you Mr. Sakai. She loves her sketch, and has started reading the books at a greater pace because of it. The Usagi and Gen piece that you did for me is incredible. I could not have asked for more from our trip to the con (which was basically an Usagi pilgrimage).

Hopefully it will not be the last time out paths cross. Have a safe trip to New York!

I did not notice the street name either, until Sunday morning. Like you, I just saw the big 400.

I also had a hard time finding my booth Friday morning.

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself! I hope this means you might consider
gracing us with your attendance again sometime... I'll make sure to bring
another art piece for you! Lol, though I don't know if that would be a
sufficient bribe^_^;;

Anyway, thanks so much for coming to see us here! I count
myself very blessed having been able to meet you^_^ (I have my
comic page framed up on my wall! I need to find a smaller frame for the
Usagi drawing though... It's all so awesome, I can't even begin to say!)
