Takeda Shingen was one of the greatest warlords during the Age of Wars. Every year on April 12 (the date of his death) there is a grand parade on the streets of Kofu, with men dressed in warriors' garb and riding horses. The Kofu Municipal government chooses the person to play Shingen from candidates submitted from the general public.
