A big box of UY Book 22: Tomoe's Story trade paperback came today. Hopefully, they will be in the stores next week. It has a very nice introduction by my pal Heidi MacDonald. I have never been compared to Elvis on a black velvet painting before. I love it.

I will certainly have copies at San Diego.

Hopefully, the hard covers will arrive soon.

I believe the Polish edition is already scheduled for November.

What I love about each volume of USAGI YOJIMBO is its ability to teach us every facet and detail of feudal Japan, right down to the exquisite mythology and mysterious history.

For example, in TOMOE'S STORY, we learn that being enchanted by a fox turns you into a jerk.

I just got my copy.

I'm going to write a review for it soon.

But...

What I did like were the changes to the colour specials and not just the obvious parts.

In the Foxfire special, Stan applied some nice self-censorship. Cuz I believe the evil Fox called Tomoe a nasty name in the original...only it's not there in the TPB.

:? Man, I bought a copy of Tomoe's Story earlier today, but it is already in the mail on it's way to Lublin in Poland, and I forgot to check out the new version of "Tomoe's Story" first.

I guess I'll just have to wait another couple weeks until my s/n hardcover edition arrives. :(

:D So, you wanted to ship the book as "new and unread"; your self-control is admirable.

Maybe you can find solace in the fact that I join you in your wait for HC # 22...

I will never understand why we have to wait so much time for new Usagi

Tomoe's story is a totally new and never published story or it is only full version of stories which were publihsed in parts?

P.S.
I am asking because you have written something about "new version of this" :?:

Thanks very, very much Steve :D

Best wishes to you all

Poland will be the first country to publish a foreign edition of Book 22. That is pretty fast. After that, you will have to wait for a yearly schedule, as in the US.

The first three stories were first published as Color Specials as long as 20 years ago. I could not find the original art to Tomoe's Story, which is the lead story and published in the first Color Special, so I had to redraw the entire 20 pages. Many of the panels were recomposed, one page was entirely redone. That is the "new version."

The book has made the UK, I've seen one place I often get my Usagi and TMNT comics from has it in stock. Do you know if you will receive the h/c version before San Diego Sensei? Naturally I'll be looking to purchase it there ;)

The HC editions generally come out about 2-3 weeks after the trades, so I hope to have copies at San Diego. However, I cannot guarantee it.
