Dark Horse 100

I will be doing a variant cover for Dark Horse (Presents) #121, the June issue. It is part of a promotion that DH has been doing called Dark Horse 100. They give 10 copies each to 100 retailers, basically a free promotion.
The art will be a wraparound cover. Since it doesn't have to conform to Usagi continuity, I can do whatever I want. I'm thinking Usagi, King Kong, and dinosaurs, three of my favorite topics.

Sounds like another cool item to help celebrate Usagi's 25h anniversary.

I wonder how they choose which retailers get the variant cover issues, and how someone would go about trying to pre-order copies.

Cool, it has been a while since Usagi has appeared on the cover of another comic.

I don't know how retailers are selected. I'll get a few extra copies, and maybe they can be prizes for some sort of Dojo contest.

I am confused.
Is this going to be a variant cover for Dark Horse Presents #121 or for Usagi Yojimbo #121? Or is it for MySpace Dark Horse Presents #3?
DHP #121 was released in May 1997.
Usagi Yojimbo #121 is currently listed as having a June 2009 release date.
MySpace Dark Horse Presents #3 is listed as coming out in August 2009.
Looking at some of the other Dark Horse 100 variants that have been released, they have all been for comics like Star Wars, Buffy, Conan, the Goon, etc. They are all basically on-going series offered with limited variants sent to 100 retails choosen from entries sent to Dark Horse.

doubt my store will get one, they seem to always just sell them to the stores in CA and the west coast. But maybe I can encourage my retailor to get on for me.

Hey everyone,
As Steve Hubbell has posted, the retailers are chosen from among those who enter the contest at DH's retailer website. The DH100 cover was originally going to be for
Usagi #121, but was bumped to #123, which is this month's issue. While it's true that most stores won't get copies, I'd be surprised if some didn't show up on eBay pretty soon after the release date.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, Stan posted the beautiful line art here:

The "beautiful line art" that Brendan owns.
For those who do not know him, Brendan is Editor Diana's very capable assistant.

I don't suppose a list of the winners might be available somewhere? If only for the random chance any happen to be in the UK and make life a little easier getting a copy than trawl eBay and hope...
