I just heard from Editor Diana that UY 65 (Usagi & the Tengu) is nominated in the Best Single Issue category for the Eisner Awards. Also Autobiographix is nominated in the Best Anthology category.
The Eisners will be presented at Comic-Con International: San Diego in July.

Yo'; You most definitely deserve it Sakai-sensei!! The Tengu issue is one of my personal faves! I found some really cool pics of Tengu statues in Japan! They are of both kinds ; the long-nosed "human-like" tengu and the "karasu" crow-like tengu. They're pretty cool. But in both examples they both have smallish wings.

I was wondering if you had ever been nominated for those awards. It's about time you were! Congratulations!
I'm not familiar with Autobiographix.

I think this is my 15th or 16th nomination. I won three of them.
Autobiographix is an anthology of autobiographical stories done by cartoonists who are not known for doing autobiographical stories. Included are Sergo Aragones' memories of meeting President Nixon, Frank Miller's experiences on the set of the DareDevil movie, Paul Chadwick's hitchhiking journey, and my trip to the Angouleme Comics Festival in France.
Wow!

I was not aware that you had won Eisners. That's terrific. I will have to hunt down the Autobiographix. I'd never heard of it before.

Here's the
Autobiographix page at the Dark Horse website. The local store from which I buy Usagi (and plenty of imported books, comic-books and graphic novels) brought a couple of them, and since Stan said that it was a pretty good book I bought it. The book is absolutely great: Sergio Aragonés' story about him meeting Richard Nixon was really funny, and Stan's description of the Angoulème comic con makes me realy wanna go there even more that I wanted to - a lot!. Actually, all the stories are very impressive in one or another way.
