This is not related to Usagi, but it is to Japan:
This year marks Hello Kitty's 30th birthday (10 years older than Usagi).

Hello Kitty (aka Kitty White), born in London on November 1, 1974, Blood type "A", weight: the same as three apples, height: the same as five apples stacked, lives with her twin sister Mimi and her parents, ambition: poet or pianist, favorite word: "Friendship", favorite subjects: English & music, boyfriend: Dear Daniel.
Celebrations in Japan will begin in July.
When we were in Japan, cartoonist Lynn Johston gave us a huge (about 12 apples tall) Hello Kitty doll to bring back for Hannah. She loved it.
