Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard

Like the pantherwarrior I am finding it impossible to get an Avitar up and running. I have found a "portrait" of "Yagi" I want to use , but , I keep getting told that it's too big!!! Other people are using portraits of the same nature...why can't I ???!!! It's frustrating me no end!!!!!!HELP!!!!!toonz@sympatico.ca

Try shrinking the file size down (either by compression or resampling). I think there is a size limit (memory wise) that is in place. Digulla-san, any advice? Maybe there's a way to increase the size limit?

Image Size limit: 80x80 pixels

File Size limit: 6 kb.

Try using an image editor like Paint Shop Pro to shrink the image (you can even try with Paint, if you're using Windows). Also, make sure that the file is saved as a *.gif or *.jpg file to make sure the file size is as small as possible.

Have you tried to do what ziritrion and Todd suggested. The image must be 80 x 80 or less. It can't be 81 x 50. The file size also has to be 6kb or less. I just made a new one to see if it works and it did. Right click on the image you want and go to properties. What does it say?

I had to turn my image from color to greyscale so that the file size would fit.

Tell me where the Yagi picture is and I'll see if I can post it. I guess you can just give me the link.

Don't panic. If there isn't any possible way you can make the image fit, try looking for a different one. It doesn't even have to have anything to do with Usagi (look at my avatar, I took it from a NES videogame; well, actually, from a website; or Todd's). If you don't know where to find one, try looking for something you like at Google Image search (just go to google.com and click on "images"). It's really helpful (I actually was going to use an image I found there until I found my current avatar).

If you don't know how to change the image so it will fit, there are many free programs that will let you do that with a couple of clicks. Just try this link or try looking at google.com, teoma.com, downloads.com, tucows.com, or any other search or download website, and then look for the right program.

If you still can't get a proper image as an avatar, just send it to my e-mail adress (click on the mail icon right below this message), and I'll try to make it fit and then send it back to you.

Looks like Gaffey managed to change his avatar. There shouldn't be any problem now .

One question though: when changing the avatar, I know that any prior message you sent with your older avatar will change its avatar as well, but what about signatures? Do they change, or are they just automated pieces of text put after the actual text?
