Fantagraphics UY #1

Post by Thomas Froehling »

Hello,
a German seller advertises his UY # 1 of the Fantagraphics run, but seems reluctant to ship it internationally;

If someone in this forum still needs a copy of it, I'd be willing to assist.

( I do not expect the price to go up very much, since UY still is not the big hit it should be.)
Greetings from overseas

I believe he is saying that he will either win the bid for you or you can ship it to him and he will send it overseas.

And BTW, welcome to the boards. I hope your stay is a pleasant one :mrgreen:

I still have a bunch that I sell at cons for $5 each. Not bad for a 20 year old comic, especially with the current comics selling for $3. It is also much cheaper than this one currently on eBay:

However, mine is nowhere near a CGC 9.6, having been stored in my garage for the two decades.

When it was scheduled for publication, I told Editor Kim I wanted 500 of that issue. Good friend Sergio Aragones told me, "500? That's not enough. Get a thousand." I took his advice and ordered a 1000 instead. However, Kim neglected to cancel the order for 500, and I received boxes and boxes of the comics--1,500 in all. Most of them are still in my garage.

UY 1 sold out quickly on the stands and went into a second printing. All my issues are first printing.

Well, of cource, getting it directly from Sensei definetly is the best way to acquire that issue; :wink:

But not everyone is fortunate enough to get it that way..
