Pro tip: if someone is planning on ordering a ton of books, break it up into two orders. I generally do a $50 order (for free shipping), then it gives me an extra 2% off subsequent orders made within the next week or so. For Black Friday weekend, that additional discount is 3%.

I put in a giant order on Wednesday (I made a recent enough purchase I already qualified for the extra 3%), picking up Rashomon: A Commissioner Heigo Kobayashi Case, Sweet Tooth deluxe edition vol. 3, Abe Sapien: Dark and Terrible vol. 1, Cursed Pirate Girl coloring book, Batman Year One deluxe edition, and The Sixth Gun deluxe edition vol. 2 (I just finished reading vol. 1 this last week).

Then they added a single day IDW discount today (they very rarely add extra discounts to IDW books), so I ordered the second and third Locke & Key Master editions, TMNT (IDW ongoing) collection vol. 5, and the complete Essex County. This sale is sure costing me a lot of money...or is it saving me a lot of money? 8)

Darn it Jabba, why did you tell me about the IDW sale? Ha!

I guess I should say thank you. I picked up SWAMP THING THE BRONZE AGE OMNIBUS HC in my first order. 45% off

Second order:
ROCKETEER COMPLETE COLLECTION DLX ED HC VOL 01 40% off
DAVE STEVENS STORIES & COVERS HC 40% off
DAVE STEVENS COMPLETE SKETCHBOOK COLL HC 40% off
ART OF OVER THE GARDEN WALL HC 48% off

The Art of The Garden Wall is a gift for my daughter, so that doesn't count, right? ;)

Haha, true. Some people can drop more than a $100 in a weekend of drinking and clubbing, so I shouldn't feel bad spending that much every once in a while on books. :D

Drawn & Quarterly Trades are now on a 1 day sale. To the best of my recollection, the only Drawn & Quarterly books I've read were Lint (Chris Ware), Mooncop and SuperMutant Magic Academy.

SuperMutant Magic Academy is awesome. D&Q Books that liked were from seth, Chester Brown, and Joe Matt. A lot of self loathing autobiographical comics. Ha! Peace, maka

(edit) and Chris Ware, Craig Thompson (blankets), Adrian Tomine, Shigeru Mizuki, and Guy Delisl. I want to read Lynda Barry.

The only D&Q book I had on my wish list was Tom Gauld's (Mooncop) Baking With Kafka. Certainly not enough to qualify for free shipping, so I couldn't justify putting in another order. Hopefully Oni gets a 1 day discount so I can order the last two Sixth Gun books.

Hey, I'm friends with Joe Matt! He hangs out with my brother, so sometimes we catch a movie or have dinner at my brother's place.

Who don’t you know? ;)

Very cool. In my twenties, I was all into Joe’s Peepshow comics. I was the fanboy that was blown away by how he drew and told stories about himself that made himself look BAD. I thought it was funny, fun, and shocking. I searched out the backissues bins (before ebay) for his comics at conventions.

I hope somewhere Joe is making a comic about your brother, you, and him catching a movie and dinner together. I’d pay good money for that. Ha!

Peace, Maka

Yeah! I was wondering when the D&Q promo was going to change over, as I checked earlier today and it hadn't updated yet.

They also have The Sakai Project for $2.10!!! At that price, I just may have ordered 10 copies! 8) I see some of these in the future of Dojo giveaways.

If anybody is looking for UY vol. 29 or vol. 31 hardcovers, they're currently 50% off.
