hey,

i recently moved to Hiroshima and i suddenly realised that i have nowhere to get the graphic novels anymore [i dont get the comics]..... ANYBODY know where i could pick the books up of the street in japan... obviously Hiroshima prefecture is best!!!!

i hate credit cards, so i cant buy online.

I think you could be struggling in Hiroshima, the local Kinokuniya might have some english books but doubtful about the comics.

the best place I found is Tower Records in Shibuya in Tokyo. Not convenient at all I realise, but at least you are on a Shinkansen line (as was I in Niigata). The 7th floor is just English books and magazines and there are quite a few comics. I am not sure if you would get UY (being not so popular) but next time you are in Tokyo, check it out.

To get there, come out the North Exit, You will know you are there as it leads out onto a five way intersection, the busiest place on the planet, with masses of video screens (can't remember the name of the exit, sorry). There will be a starbucks diagonally opposite you on the corner, take the street on it's *right* hand side and about 200 metres on the right (past MacD's and Haagen Daz) is the Tower Records. Most kids will know where it is if you ask them.

Another way to do it is to arrange with a co-worker/friend to order the items for you, and pay them directly. Family back in (I assume) North America could also ship stuff over, and you could send them money orders or bank transfers. I guess one could enquire with the publishers online about their willingness to take a money order drawn by a Japanese bank, and go about it in the way we ran things in the ancient days of mail-order.
