I sold a copy of Albedo #2 at 2008's San Diego Con. The buyer arranged for the CGC guy to come over and witness me signing it. That is the only copy I ever signed that way. It was graded at 9.8. I wonder what that would go for.

I hate the graded stuff, cause knowing myself if I bought something like this, I want to break it open and look at it. lol still cool to see these.

I've only bought one graded item in the past because it was the first time in a LONG time that I'd seen it appear. So it was a little premium but worth it to get it. And yes, I did bust open the casing so I could read it. I'll never grade and solid encase any of my comics... even the TMNT #1 first printing...

IIRC, didn't Stan say that when UY first started, he wasn't able to give away copies of Albedo #2? Seems rather ironic now.

I bought a graded copy of Albedo #2 (8.5 or something).
But you can still break it open to read it. It will cost you like thirty bucks to get it re-graded, maybe even at a higher rating.

see, that makes sense, particularly once you start getting into silly money for comics.
slabbing something that was just released? I really don't get at all...

Dang! 5K+ for a mid 80s comic is pretty amazing (I don't follow the comic market much, but, off hand, I cannot think of another title/issue of that era that would fetch that kind of price). Me, I'd rather spend the money on original artwork.
