Any whispers of a hardcover? Dark Horse used to release them a couple of weeks apart.

Yes, there are whispers. I think Kyle mentioned something a few times on Facebook, but I don't recall exactly where. I think due in early 2020?Gaffey wrote:Any whispers of a hardcover? Dark Horse used to release them a couple of weeks apart.

I don't know anything about a hardcover, as the only thing announced (and available for preorder) is a softcover in April.maichan wrote:Yes, there are whispers. Ah, my misunderstanding then. I knew a collection was scheduled, and I assumed it was a HC.jabba359 wrote:I don't know anything about a hardcover, as the only thing announced (and available for preorder) is a softcover in April.maichan wrote:Yes, there are whispers. Yes, it would have helped if I would have paid attention to the previous posts, then I could have avoided this emotional rollercoaster for you, and embarrassing moment for me.

I saw somewhere here on the DojoBoard that there will be a hardcover released. So you were right all along!maichan wrote:Yes, it would have helped if I would have paid attention to the previous posts, then I could have avoided this emotional rollercoaster for you, and embarrassing moment for me.

I wonder if there will be a bonus section in the back with all the variant covers to issues 1, 6 and 7?

Re: Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories
It's being solicited at 192 pages. So 7 issues at 24 pages each is only 168 pages. That leaves us 24 pages of extras, hopefully some of that for covers, though it's not enough pages to allow for one cover per page..Gaffey wrote: I wonder if there will be a bonus section in the back with all the variant covers to issues 1, 6 and 7?

Re: Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories
Just 21 different pieces of art for the first issue alone (there were more variants, but they reused art or were blank). Then another 8 different cover art pieces for issue 6 (again not counting the art twice for the trade/virgin release or including the blank), so it looks like 35 covers total? Obviously 24 extra pages isn't enough for them all if they're doing full page reprints of covers, but maybe we can hope for at least a smaller gallery of them all (2-4 per page)? Or maybe an expanded hardcover with a full page gallery of all the covers?maichan wrote:All the covers?jabba359 wrote:It's being solicited at 192 pages. Re: Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories
Sorry, misunderstood the part where you were wondering if the hardcover would have a complete cover gallery. I thought you meant the book (whether hardcover or softcover) in general would have them all, so I was referring to the softcover since that one has an announced page count. I haven't seen a page count for the hardcover yet, so it's possible it's expanded to a slightly greater length.Gaffey wrote:Ok, where are you finding this information?jabba359 wrote:It's being solicited at 192 pages. Was it in the Previews Catalog?

Re: Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories
Yeah, if I have a choice between hardcover and softcover I'll choose the hardcover every time. Also, when it comes to Usagi collections I assume the hardcover will have extra goodies. With the shut down of all things comics I'll just have to be patient.
