"Visitor From Another World" (not the final title)

Earth orbit...

All is silent as a large chunk of rock approaches the Earth's gravitational field. Venturing too close, it lights up as it enters the atmosphere.

Some time later...

SHIRANUI VILLAGE

In the middle of the night, the sound of a large explosion filled the area. Panic filled the area as a large fireball falling from the sky split up and started raining destruction upon the village. The main body of the fireball landed in the center of the village, exploding as it left behind a large crater... out of the 68 inhabitants, only 3 made it out in time.

Meanwhile, in the woods, a young (cat) boy and his (wolf) sensei heard the noise but the walls of flame prevented them from getting close to the village to see what was happening. The next day, all they saw was death, destruction, and pieces of rock littered all over the place.

"Oto-san... Oka-san... Onee-chan..." the boy cried...

6 years later... (the present day for Usagi Yojimbo

The boy, Hattori Kinzo, now grown up (about 17), stood at a mound of dirt with the 3 other survivors. "Hanzo-sensei, you were like a father to us. But do not worry, with the Mishima-style ninjutusu you taught us, we should be able to protect ourselves in your absence..."

A mass of light appeared, taking the form of a human... who due to her flat chest could be mistaken for a boy were it not for her slender and slim physique.

She sensed something... or someone... she was being watched.

[And that's as far as I can go until I re-read the book where Jei makes his appearance, I don't want to portray him out of character. He's not the only character I plan to include that I haven't read stories of for a while either.]
