Masters of Science Fiction

For the past three weeks, a show called MASTERS OF SCIENCE FICTION has been broadcast on ABC. You can check out the official website here.

If you're reading this right now, I strongly recommend that you tune in for the last episode, THE DISCARDED, which will air next Saturday at 10pm (EST). Not only is it based on a short story by Harlan Ellison (one of the crazier authors out there), it's co-written by Ellison to boot! Here's a quick summary I found over on the website:

The ultimate story of despised minorities forever adrift in the darkness of outer space. As a last resort – born out of their loneliness and despair – they are forced to make an ominous pact with those responsible for their plight, in the hope that they will finally be offered refuge at home on Earth.

Plus, Stephen Hawking introduces each story. Yes, THAT Stephen Hawking.

Oooh, my roommate and I were watching that a few weeks ago. 'Twas pretty nifty. Had a bit of a "Twilight Zone" vibe going on.
