Samurai Jack

Post by Trevis Woods »

Just picked up Season four of Samurai Jack. If you haven't seen this show you must check it out. The animation is fantastic and the colors are amazing. Good stories and an overall high quality show. The episode titled Jack vs. the ninja does some really cool black and white color schemes during their face off. I could go on and on about this show along with the Emmy win on season 3 and the "300" like episode with Jack and the Spartans or Jack against an army of zombies in a graveyard and even Jack as a chicken in a fight club style story.

Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky would be great for a Trade intro on volume 22. There is an interesting round table discussion as an extra on the DVD set talking about some of their inspiration being Lone Wolf and Cub and other Samurai movies, etc...

Anybody else a fan of this show or pick up the final season today???

i've been meaning to get seasons 2 and 3 but I do have season 1 which is pretty awesome.

I've watched the first run maybe a dozens times. It doesn't have alot of dialogue but the crazy images say it all.

Samurai Jack is a great dvd buy and worth it for repeat viewings.....looking foward to get the rest of the sets now...

Tartakovsky is now doing the next CGI Clone Wars and the footage thats been released looks sic!!!!

What I've always liked about Jack was that he was a man of very few words, but he never failed to get his point across. That shows some quality writing.

Season four extras have a behind the scenes look at their new studio called Orphange animation. They look to have some amazing stuff including a new "viking" genre toon.

Everyone should at least check out the the following episodes. Especially if you like sword fights and all out action: Episode 20,22,25,30,31,48,51(young Jack). The two part episode "the birth of evil"" that won an Emmy, also is great.

Amazing stuff and I did see some of the new Clone wars stuff. Tartakovsky also did amazing stuff with the Cartoon network clone wars series. Especially the fight with Asajj and Anakin and the Grievous stuff as well.

Season 4 is on my X-mas wish list. Can't wait to watch it. So who would win in a duel...Usagi or Jack (sorry if that was asked before).

I'm not sure if they'd even fight... I think they'd probably be pretty good buds, eh?

Genndy Tartakovsky is also set to helm a sequel to The Dark Crystal called The Power of the Dark Crystal. The original artist is designing all of the set pieces and characters as well.

From what I understand they are using mostly muppets with limited CGI.

That style of animation (Samurai Jack) is brilliant.
