It was shot at the McDonald Observatory close to Fort Davis, TX. I've been there a couple of times, and I recommend going if you get a chance. It's really too bad that most people don't get to see the night sky like this because of light pollution.

Which UY story was it that included a story about the Milky Way from Japanese folklore? IIRC, it was in Book 9 or thereabouts.
