Sergio is in 8/26 episode of Futurama

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

I thought fans of Sergio Aragones and/or Futurama would be interested to know that he will have a guest appearance on this Thursday's new episode of Futurama:

Comic-Con may be over for 2010, but its intergalactic equivalent is just getting started in the retro-futuristic 31st century of "Futurama." According to Comedy Central, the show's August 26 episode entitled "Lrrreconcilable Ndndifferences" will feature guest appearances by "Simpsons" and "Futurama" creator Matt Groening, executive producer David X. Cohen, "MAD Magazine" cartoonist, "Groo" creator (not to mention a regular Bongo Comics artist) Sergio Aragonés and former "Battlestar Galactica" star Katee Sackhoff.

As usual, the voice talent alive during this era will appear as disembodied, preserved heads in jars. It doesn't appear that any of the guest stars will obtain robotic war suits ala Nixon, but with "Futurama," you never know.

Given the show's parody of Comic-Con, viewers can likely expect some insightful humor in the script. Each of the guest stars are convention veterans at this point. Comedy Central's images seem to point to a mostly good-natured visit, even if Aragonés' expression seems to mirror an artist being asked for a "cheesecake" sketch commission by Bender.
Funnily enough, Sergio actually has a story about meeting Richard Nixon in this book:

your opponent is always yourself."
