What is the fate of Mirage Studios?
I am aware that Peter Laird sold the TMNT franchise to Nickelodeon and that several artists such as Jim Lawson decided to leave the company. Is Mirage shutting down? What will happen to the TMNT comics?

they were both said to be involved(eastman and laird) at the time of 2009s san diego comic con were their 25th anniversary was still celebrated...in recent posts on peter laird's blog I tried to make out any hint whether or not they still participate in this movie project(since the selling of the tmnt had happened after the comic con)..it is still not clear to me if they take part in the making of it, very mucho so, too as peter laird is kind of cleansing of everything turtles-relatedof his part at the moment...is also of interest to mention that the planned movie still has the same executive producers listed who were eager to make this film fitting very much to the original comic books we all so love.....in interviews taped at the same san diego c c they seemed very content that they have peter and kevin on board....and they all(including pete and kevin) were showing much love for the director of the very first live action tmnt movie steve baron.it felt like they were negotiating behind the scenes about a return of the director for this project...
mmirage comics is still selling their stock of comic books, they even post ebay auctions of their tmnt special books...
all in all mirage is closing down I think, yet they officially gained the right to publish up to 18 issues of teenage mutant ninja turtles comic books for the future, so there is still hope of a return to the roots some time in the future...
turtle power!!;)

well, the turtles are their creation so I guess he would naturally be interested in what somebody's doing with them in a big motion picture...
but despite common believe he has no problems with either turtles or his old partner peter...they just don't have to do with each other....
kevin also published a book containing his favourite tmnt stories some of which he colored for the first time last year.....it is a very neat book, worth to check out...
I hope peter feels free and content with returning to tell just comic book turtles stories someday and who knows...maybe they'll put out one together?...

Kevin has no issue doing TMNT related stuff, hence the three books that Heavy Metal has released (Body Count, Kevin's TMNT autobiography, and the 25th Anniversary book) and that he continues to sketch TMNT stuff in anything related if you ask. Plus Kevin and Peter collaborated on the SDCC 2009 25th anniversary poster so I figure there can't be any acrimony... right?

With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...
