Official Press Release
Wolverine. Psylocke. The Punisher. Hulk. Deadpool. Five of Marvel's deadliest heroes will come to the fore this March for a series unlike any other in 5 RONIN. Bound together by the same fate, yet alone in their existence, they are forced to walk the lonely path of the masterless samurai in the violent and tumultuous world of feudal Japan.
Crafted by writer Peter Milligan and a rotating cast of today's hottest artists, 5 RONIN is a month-long event with covers from some of the biggest names in the industry. To celebrate the release of this series, retailers will have the opportunity to order two different covers per issue, one by superstar artist David Aja and one by another industry favorite.
“What would the ultimate samurai super hero epic look like? The answer is 5 RONIN” explains Editor Sebastian Girner. “When we came up with the idea of taking our biggest heroes and setting them in this time period, writer Peter Milligan and the amazingly talented cast of artists immediately jumped on board. This is easily one of the most beautiful comics you will read this year.”
Each of the 5 seeks revenge, but against whom? And what powerful secret connects these lone warriors? 5 RONIN will examine the true face of Marvel's most solitary characters against a majestic -- and bloodstained -- backdrop.

I think the artwork looks pretty cool in the preview pages, but will the story be worth reading?

Marvel's First Look: 5 Ronin's Psylocke
The fourth issue brings Psylocke to the forefront
By Chris Beveridge December 30, 2010
The 5 Ronin event is set to kick off in March from Marvel Comics and the company is highlighting the fourth issue for fans today with a look at the Psylocke issue. Betsy Braddock has certainly been one of the Marvel characters that has changed a whole lot since her introduction quite a few years ago and even since that physical transformation she's gone through a lot more. This new month long miniseries about five Marvel characters in feudal times that's disconnected from continuity is set to show another side of the very popular character.
The series will be written by Peter Milligan with artwork by Goran Parlov, who Marvel has supplied three preview pages for below as well as the variant cover by David Aja that will be available. Click the link above to see the David Mack cover that was originally solicited.

It is not yet released, but it will be in a couple months. Between March 2nd and March 30th, five issues over the course of five weeks. I have to admit that I am looking forward to seeing and reading this mini-series, if nothing else, than to see how Marvel manages to spoil such a neat idea. Besides Stan's Strabge Tales / Samurai Hulk story, this is the first project from Marvel which I've actually added to my pull list at the local comic shop.
