Hello UYDers,
I really like it short videos that inspire or make me feel emotions. Before I start class each day, I show a quick video to my students to get them out of their previous state of mind (and set the tone for the class). I wanted to share some of with my friends here at the Dojo. So I'm going to use this thread to post a video once a day (or however often I feel like it).
Please feel free to share videos that inspire you here as well. I love to see what inspires others. Thanks!
One of my favorite videos is Last Moments with Oden. (Warning, very emotional as it examines the euthanasia of a pet dog. And there is some cussing as well. But I think it is beautiful in so many ways):

I like stop motion when it is done well. The music is well chosen for this short as well. (3:06 min) The PEN Story:

The Marshmallow Test (based on the famous psychological test - children who could practice delayed gratification tended to do better in their adult years) Really cute kids (3:44 min):

At WonderCon this year I attended the Star Wars: Last Fan Standing short film contest. They showed this video that won a fan favorite in years past. It makes me smile and laugh.

My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.
WINNER of the 'George Lucas Selects' award in the 2009 Star Wars Fan Movie contest.

well, since nobody else wants to contribute here;)I can post a video that is an excerpt of a vhs program of charles barkley namely 'sir charles'...
back in the days I used to live on basketball courts and spend my time with friends that soon turned into my brothers as we experienced so much together....we were still in school so there were no financial worries involved;)...i rewatched it last night on the internet and it gives me not only goosebumps to see him play in his powerful, heartfelt manner, but also to see right through how pure a person he is...
enjoy...

I've seen that before. I think that the funny thing about it is that her plot summary of the original Star Wars trilogy actually isn't all that far off in some ways, even if it's a bit out of order.Maka wrote:At WonderCon this year I attended the Star Wars: Last Fan Standing short film contest. STAR WARS (in French):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-uQWNd ... dded#at=39
Star Wars with a French existentialist twist. Almost all the subtitles (except for little things like "Despair!" and "I die!" and a few others) are actually quotes from Jean-Paul Sartre. And obviously this will make no sense if you understand French. If you do know it, hit yourself in the head repeatedly before watching this. And then hit yourself repeatedly when you're done watching. Peace, maka
