We had that art show last night and it was a good time. A ton of people came out, and I actually sold quite a few comics. What was neat too, was I met others in the area who are dabbling with making comics. One young kid, just got his bachelors, really wants to get into SCAD. It was neat for an area like ours, which doesn't not a lot of cultural or artsy events, to have the beginning of an artistic community. Especially centered around comics arts. It's like we're making a difference!
This comic store owner is the best comic book guy ever. I can't believe how he took down all his shelves and turned the place into a gallery. We would really like to organize our own convention some day, but that is kind of a pipe dream, since we're both poor!

I made this comic a couple years ago. It was for an anthology that never saw print. The idea was that every artist would draw their interpretation of the scene below:
"You are in a dark room when you hear the following series of sounds: chrrt, vreep, plink, skssst, blurgle, ving, frungt, paf, spang, wfft, tchug, tchug, reeeee, ka-tong, wham, smurchle boof, tsss, ting."
No additional sounds or words were allowed. Here's what I came up with.

Eclectic Comics #3 is FINALLY available online. I am selling it at cost on the website. I'm doing this because they cost about $2.50 and by the time you add shipping, a comic shouldn't cost more than that! I realize it's not the best business model, but I wasn't selling any from the online store anyway. I figure, it would be better to get more readers than more customers!

I enjoyed making this comic about a person I've always thought was fascinating, and I learned a lot more about him while doing the research. There have been many successful people who just did not do well in school, and telling their stories is a recurring theme in my comics. I think these stories remind us to try to be accepting of the square pegs who just do not fit into round holes!

I had this idea for a comic a while ago, when Nathan was going through the Terrible Two's. It's been in my head for a long time. I don't know why it took me so long to get around to drawing it. When I finished, it just seemed like this one needed to be shaded with pencil and blending stump, so that you can tell when the lights are off, I guess.
