A week after Johnny Hart died, his partner on Wizard of Id, artist Brant Parker, passed away in a nursing home at age 86.

Parker stopped drawing the Wizard of Id in 1997, but it continued on with work by assistants and his son, Jeff. Jeff is expected to carry it on.

I never met Parker, but I did meet Johnny Hart. He was with musician/composer Paul Williams at an event we were all invited to.

Wow, what a coincidence. Two cartoonists that will be sorely missed, but at least their creations live on!
