Trying to plan out Motorcity trip

Post by shaxper »

K and I have booked our hotel and bought our tickets for the Motorcity Comicon and are trying to plan the weekend. Any suggestions on local sights or activities to check out while we're there? I've probably printed forty pages of info from the internet about Novi and Detroit, but other than a possible Tigers game, we have no idea what we'd like to see/do.

Also, how much time do you think we'll need at the Comicon? It doesn't look like too many activities are happening, but I've never been to a convention this big before, so I could be very wrong about that. I do want to check out the back issues and make some purchases, but Keira will probably grow bored of this rather quickly. Naturally, the main priority is seeing Stan and meeting up with the Dojo. I'd imagine we'll probably linger around the booth for at least an hour or so.

Also, when is a good down time to visit Stan Sensai? When we saw him at Anthrocon we were very fortunate that the booth wasn't overrun with fans, so we were able to chat quite a bit (and get a picture taken!). Do you think there will be any slower times like this at Motorcity, or will it be madness 24-7?

Any help/recommendations would be appreciated!

There are always slow times at conventions. Even San Diego has its slow periods, though it can pick up really fast.
