This Japanese trailer for the upcoming Astro Boy (or "Atomu" if you prefer) makes it look a lot better than the American trailer does:

I was rather skeptical about Americans making an Astro Boy movie, but based on this trailer, it looks promising. I read somewhere that Osamu Tezuka's son, Macoto Tezuka, is going to do the voice for "Osamu Tezuka" in the Japanese version, which I think is cool (Tezuka made a lot of little cameo appearances in his manga, and it looks like this movie is following that tradition).
A lot of people would probably consider it too dorky, but I really hope that this movie has some version of the original Astro Boy theme song:

Did anyone else go see the movie over the weekend? It has its problems, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. If nothing else you have to give the director some credit for being brave enough to not leave out Astro Boy's butt machine guns. I was a little disappointed that the original Astro Boy theme song was never used.

Not seen the film yet, but form the previews I have issues with Dr. Tenma being not bad guy. Also the supposed Astro Boy origins I have seen in the movie comic I have issues with, I preferred the car accident which killed Tobio. It was more tragic and in the 80's version of the series made you have a hard time hating or loving Dr. Tenma.
