Almost every student at UCSB, where I work, has a facebook account. Very few college students are into twitter.

I started a facebook fan page and twitter account for my department at work. But I still wonder how often to update. I like to inform but I don't want to spam our followers/fans. I have no idea but am trying to post once or twice a day.

Any facebook or twitter users here? Anyone do it particularly to build a brand? How often do you update?
