Waiting for new Usagi trades can be pretty frustrating, so I recently expanded my comic library by diving into Bill Willingham's Fables series. The trades were numerous and they seemed to be well received.
I've read all the way up to "The Good Prince" arc and the series as a whole is just as good as Usagi in my mind. Great storytelling, memorable characters, and epic arcs.
Anyone else here read Fables? No spoilers for me please as I've only read up to the tenth trade.

Hello Usagi Yojimbo Dojo,
I read Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall at the local library. I thought it was brilliant.
Peace, maka

Fables is one of those series that I want to get into, but just never have.

Same problem I am having. I have two shelves of Graphic Novels I need to read, and a closet of Manga I need to read. And lets not talk about my normal stacks of issues. I am behind.

I read Fables since its beginning, i pretty like Bill Willingham. I had the opportunity to meet Steve Leialoha at Wondercon this year, who was very nice, and i exchanged a few mail with James Jean before he became the "star" he has become. For sure, Fables is really clever and beautiful comic.

I liked Fables but dropped it after Wolves, partly because of the ending of that TPB and partly because of Willingham's comments on said ending. (More specifically, his comments about the way he expected his female readers to react.)
Give me UY any day.
