last two TMNT comics

Post by Gallennon »

so it seems laird is still writing the TMNT comics, but they go for 10.00 bucks each. Is this because they are longer books or is it because he is having to front these books with out any sponsors or publisher? Just curious if anyone knows.

The latter pretty much. It came about due to changes in Diamond's distribution iirc and their minimum order limit, and hence there are only 1,000 copies of each made. Smaller print runs put the costs up per issue in general anyhow. They are free to read (well, were) online at the same time. The first set of orders all had sketches in the back; Laird did them all for #29, and a range of Mirage artists did them in #30.

Which series/publisher is this? (link to an image?) I'm currently reading Tales of the TMNT vol2. I didn't know there was another Laird-run book out right now. Ten bucks is expensive, but if he's making it worth it, I'd happily hand over dough.

He's talking about volume four. Only the last two issues have been $10 (#29 and #30) as they've been technically privately printed in smaller numbers. The other 28 issues are the normal cover price.
