INCEPTION

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

Anyone else seen this yet? If not, believe the hype for once. Go see it before you hear too much about it.

If nothing else, you'll never listen to this Edith Piaf song the same way again:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that, despite what some people will tell you, it's almost nothing like the anime film Paprika:

I wasn't all that psyched about this film until my film-making brother in law gave me some background on it. For one thing, this director has intentionally held off on making films for 18 years and came out of semi-retirement just to do this film. For another, the visuals are expected to be a new breakthru in filmmaking, bigger than Avatar or the Matrix.

Inception was made by Christopher Nolan, who made The Dark Knight a couple of years ago and has steadily made a movie every few years since 1999.

Is Terrence Malick maybe the guy you're thinking of who took a long hiatus from filmmaking?

No idea. That's quite a mystery. I'll have to ask him.
