Anyone here looking forward to this? I've never read any of the comics, but I've heard nothing but good things about the movie so far. I liked Edgar Wright's other movies (Sean of the Dead and Hot Fuzz), and the visual style looks fun.

I went to an advance screening of Scott Pilgrim...

And it's goooooood!!!! Definitely Edgar Wright's best! He really embraces the comic book/video game influences of the source material.

Whoever cast the movie deserves high praise because all the secondary characters are perfect. Ellen Wong in particular gets the MVP for her portrayal of Knives Chau, especially seeing as it's her first time out of the gate.

Rating: 100% Awesome

The comics were really fun reads and the final book provided a satisfying ending. I'm worried about Michael Cera as the title character though. Dude has no acting range.

I've managed to see not one but two previews of it and it holds up really well, I agree with Colin Solan the movie is a lot of fun and the secondary actors are brilliant (though for my money Kieran Culkin stole the show).

When we left the theater and were asked for our opinions about the movie my friend said "If you hate Scott Pilgrim, you hate joy." and I think he was right

I've never been a great fan of Michael Cera either, but, if this review is anything to go on, it sounds like he may have been a perfect choice for this role:

Scott is no prize. And if you're complaining that no woman worth getting on the planet would be into Scott, you're not paying attention: for Ramona, Scott's the pushover rebound from the manipulative Gideon Graves (Jason Schwartzman); for teeny-bopper Knives, Scott's the bassist in a garage band. That he lacks strength is the point. He's an aimless shell of a kid who must taste his own blood - or get his life bar knocked down to "critical" - to become a man. And bitching that Michael Cera is too unassertive for the role of Scott Pilgrim is akin to grousing that Lee Marvin should've played Ash in THE EVIL DEAD: Scott is a spindly dork who learns to stand up for himself and others; if he's too capable in the early going, the character has absolutely nowhere to go.

Just got back from seeing the movie a little while ago. It's not perfect, but there's still a lot I liked about it, and I had fun.

Yes, Scott Pilgrim comes across as a big dork at first, but I think it's for a reason since I think this is ultimately more of a story about self-actualization than it's about any of the relationship stuff (I had the quote in my signature on my mind more than once while watching the movie).

If you want to give the soundtrack another listen, it's streaming for free on this site:

...and if you're interested in a scorecard of the video game and pop culture references, here's a pretty good article:

Really liked this one - and yeah, Scott isn't just a dork at the begining, but kind of a jerk as well.

Yeah, definitely. "Dork" can mean "jerk" too, right?

^Hmmm... I think someone can be a dork but not a jerk, but than again maybe dork denotes a kind of thoughtlessness...

Anyway, this movie isn't doing too well in the B.O. (though it's destined to be a cult favorite), so if you're on the fence about whether to go then go!

Saw it again at the dollar theater. Still great.

Jump on the bandwagon now, 'cause in a few years this will be considered required viewing!

Hey I already watched this film!!!!! This movie rocks! It's all about a guy battling 7 evil ex boyfriends. The setting is in Canada and the theme is kind of cool since it is based on video games. I love the animation and the story line. Michael Cera did a pretty good job pulling off his character. I love the humour of the film too. I suggest you guys check it out!
