Hi folks!

This weekend is that of the 18th "Comicfestival" of Luxemburg (in Contern). For this event the hole village transformes into a comic-town (ok, a small one  ). Streets are closed, traders everywere, lots of food, playgrounds for the children and, as the most interesting point for a lot of visitors from France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, ... the central sportshall, where the artists are signing.

When I studied the pre-infos for this festival, I got curious: How can it be, that there is an artist called "USAGI" ??? Whats the mystery behind? :?:

Yesterday, I waited 2 hours in the USAGI-queue, 13 people in front of me, 25 behind me, when we all were informed, that "USAGI is ill, and will not be attending the festival".
BOYS, I was so down!

Even when I cound't ask her in personal here are some facts, I found out: USAGI is the artistname of a woman, wife of a pretty famous french comicartist, and works in the same business, as doing the colours for projects with her husband, but also others. I bought one comic they did together (Golden Cup vol. 5) and find the "colour-job" quite good.

I hope USAGI is feeling better soon, maybe she will be attending the next-year festival?

I wrote a report about the festival (text is in German) and took some pictures:

Wonderful photos, Jens. I noticed a drawing of Natasha in one of your books. Was Francois Walthery there? I really like his work.

Thank you, Stan. No, he wasn't there this time, maybe next year again.

it's an about 95% franko-belgium-related festival

maybe there was some USAGI-stuff somewhere, but I have to admit, I didn't recognized any.
concerning the statuettes and action-figures everything seemed to be on the "Predator-train". Impressing (expensive) 8)

Greetings,
Jens

haha, over here in munich at the little monthly comic and record/movies sales the predator action figures and statues seem to claim the most space, too...together with a guy who sells a quatripplezyllion star wars articles...;)
