Bob's Burgers had a pretty sweet episode last night about the family's attempts to help a Japanese actor reunite with his estranged daughter. The actor and his daughter starred in a series of 1970s samurai movies called "Hawk and Chick" (the movies are unmistakably a Lone Wolf and Cub parody but with monsters, which also makes them seem like a little bit of a parody of things like the Daimajin movies and the Yokai Monsters trilogy from the 60s).

Also, this relatively obscure type of Yokai was mentioned by Gene, which is unusual considering how rare any mention of Yokai is on American tv:

Re: Lone Wolf and Cub parodied on Bob's Burgers
We had a Hulu Plus trial month. Bob's burgers was one of the shows I really liked. Thanks for letting us know about this episode. Sounds cool.
