New member here! :)

Hello and Mabuhay from the Pearl of the Orient, the Philippines!

To be honest, I'm generally a newbie when it comes to comics (started out with Guardians of the Galaxy, particularly Rocket Raccoon and Groot, hehe), but it did not hinder me from getting hooked with Usagi Yojimbo. :D

It all started with Dark Horse's recent $1 edition of Grasscutter... and from that on, it became a journey, collecting and reading whatever available single issue that I can find. Eventually, through my modest resources (and some patience), I managed to get TPBs ("Gen's Story" was my first, bought after days of diligence in the local bookstore within my former workplace), including the UY Saga editions, and just yesterday, Senso.

Being exposed to stuff related to Japan, and its culture (through anime/manga, music and movies (speaking of movies, here in my country we have this annual free screening of Japanese-language films every July... the lines are like those what I've experienced during this year's FCBD here in Manila)) I think, helped me to love this masterpiece. It also rekindled my craving for anime/manga (wanted to reread Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) or Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon), they're both great titles), as well as my long term goals of learning the language and visit Japan :D.

It's an honor and privilege to meet with all of you (even with differences in time zones)!

And welcome back/maligayang pagbabalik, Usagi!(sings the Welcome Back, Kotter theme song).

Thank you!/Salamat!
Irving

P.S. I wish Stan would come to the Philippines,in the future (*fingers crossed*).

Welcome :)

We're a pretty eclectic bunch here, but it's hard to find a more friendly and welcoming place on the net!

Welcome to the dojo!

I have fond memories of Welcome Back Kotter (oo oo oo Mr. Kotter!) even though I can't remember a single episode.

I hope you enjoy your time here!

Peace, maka

Hi guys!

Thanks for the welcome! Well appreciated. :)

Well, the song got stuck on my head lately, so there... apparently I do appreciate the music of old tv shows, given my young age (they have that charm that's lost on today's television).

Really? I remember liking Horshack, I remember Kotter would tell a joke at the beginning of every episode but that's about it.

And welcome to the boards Irving! :)
