Treasures from SDCC 2016

Post by maichan »

This thread is for everyone to share their bounty, or is it booty...?

Here are my takings. Since it's not all Usagi related I've posted in Ronin Ramblings rather than elsewhere.

I have to thank Jabba359 (Kyle) for his help in aquiring all of this. Don't know what I'd do without him. I am gratefully indebted to him!

Nice addition to your collection!

I love the new watercolor piece, looks awesome!

Did you have to ask Kyle to include the Usagi VR promo piece or did he throw it in as a surprise? I am hoping he might have included one in my care package.... :D

Likewise ;)

The Japanese art style StarFox I remember... I actually pledged for the initial Kickstarter that the guys ran to help get the business off the ground (this was a few years ago now), and chose the three piece Street Fighter scene they created. Been meaning to go back and buy a couple more now they are established. Were they at SDCC and how you bought the piece Maichan?

Wow! Jabba359 is so nice. If you send him your Sakai Project book he'll get it signed by any artists attending SDCC '17. At least that's what I heard. :P

I think I learned about Ukiyo-E Heroes here on the Dojo, and I think it was during the Kickstarter. While I didn't do anything then, (I wasn't familiar with Kickstarter, and kind of leery of it), I have been following Ukiyo-E Heroes (on Facebook) ever since. I'd thought about buying some prints online, but then I found out they attend various Comic and other cons regularly. I'd asked Kyle to get me the "Fox Moon" print before, but Jed didn't have them at that time. Last year Kyle mentioned the Totoro print, so I was interested in it also. Kyle simply bought them directly from Jed at the con, and he has an intersting bit of trivia to go along with it... Kyle...

Thanks! I love this piece!

And the biggest thanks go to Stan for the generous upgrade to my original request.

Kyle just tossed in the VR promo, so hopefully you'll be getting it also.

I think Kyle was also picking up stuff for Steve, Maka, Mayhem and Gaffey. I hope you guys will share your treasures with us also (once you get them).
And if any other Dojo members attended SDCC themselves, please share your experience with the rest of us! :)

Well, it's been delivered, so you'll just have to pick up your package to find out what's inside.

I got to talking with Jed and we discovered that we both went to the same college at pretty much the same time and know some of the same people. He was in the animation department and I was in the film department, which were on different sides of campus, but who knows, we might have passed each other in the library or something a decade ago.
