Book recommendations

Have you read anything this year that you would consider "can't miss?" I'm going to list a few books that I've really enjoyed and hope others will too. It's only my opinion so don't kill me if you don't feel the same.
My first choice would be Scurry by Mac Smith. I've read over 100 books this year and it's probably my favorite.
It's a great story with beautifully painted (digital) artwork.
I bought the hardcover set and have no regrets. It's a book I'll always keep in my collection. This is one of those times I wish I knew about the Kickstarter ahead of time because I would have definitely backed a sketch tier.
If you don't want to spend $100 for 3 hardcovers you can read it for
free online.

ACK!

You edited your comment!

In answer to your original, but now missing question... my lips are sealed.
And as for what did I think... I'm still reading, er, I mean thinking.

Dragon Hoops by Gene Yuen Yang is one of my favorite books of the year. His Superman Smashes the Klan is great too. Just read Jack Kirby The Epic Life of the King of Comics by Tom Scioli and I learned a lot about Jack that I did not know. Peace, maka

I assumed you hadn't read the book so my original post came across as a bit snarky!
I highly recommend you get more "thinking" done. It's better than half the stuff you buy!
How's that for snarky?

Agreed! Gene is going to be at Baltimore Comic Con next week. I wish I was going. He's one of the few artists I still want to sign my copy of Nursery Rhyme Comics.
I'll see if my library has the Kirby book.

Time, it's all about TIME man!

There just isn't enough of it, thus I accumulate literature for when time becomes available (hopefully before my time on this earth expires).

My tastes are 'eclectic' ... and I admit, not always spot-on.

I was just kidding. We basically read the same comics. I was referring to your manga purchases because I can't read backwards!!

I have been reading a few new books as they come out. Too early to tell if they are gonna stay on my pull list indefinitely but they have caught my interest:
Home Sick Pilots
Time Before Time
Mazebook
We Only Find Them When They're Dead
Something Is Killing the Children along with spin-off House of Slaughter
TMNT: The Last Ronin
Then of course I have a few books that I know are more or less guaranteed to be good reads
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Black Hammer et al.
Hellboy et al.
Outerverse et al.
Norse Mythology
The Walking Dead Deluxe

I read Home Sick Pilots, We Only Find Them When They're Dead and Something Is Killing the Children. In my opinion SIKTC is the best of the bunch. I just traded in my tpbs for the hardcover slipcase.

My biggest issue with manga is the multi-bubble panels. I ALWAYS read 14 then 13 instead of the other way around. It makes for a very confusing read.
