i just realised now that there is a really cool samurai lego set, has anyone else seen these, they are so cool! theres like a casle, three diferent ninja colors, cool samurai armor, katanas. it is without a doubt the coolest lego stuff i have ever seen. and its pretty accurate, the armor and stuff looks convincing, and they even have the little crecent thing on the helms. exept of course the ninjas are either: black, red, or white(real stealthy), the two main samurai colors are red and blue, so i did a cool battle scene with the takeda and uesugi, with cavalry and all. there are archers and cool traps in the castle, as well as siege weapons and stuff. you all have to pick some of this stuff up, even though the price of lego these days is insane. i highly reccomend this stuff.

I did a search on Lego's site and didn't find a description of this set.

Black-- EVERYTHING goes with black
White-- Hokkaido winter ops (what are the Ainu up to this winter? Same as last year; lots of shivering with malice aforethought)
Red-- The yearly lunar new-year's rave at the Clan Iga Mountain Stronghold and Licenced Lounge.

I agree the samurai lego is pretty cool, but I remember the good old days when there were about ten different shapes of block, and you made a castle, moose, or whathaveyou by clever arrangement of these few elements. None of this "Darth Vader's TIE Fighter: 15 pieces" nonsense.

I loved (and still love!) Lego. I used to have a big bunch of 6-dotted and 4-dotted lego SYSTEM blocks, build castles and space ships and play with my friends for hours. We also played a lot with the Sega MegaDrive (Genesis in the US) and the SuperNES. Good times . I also fell in love with the Lego Technichs, but they were/are expensive (I only got 2 or 3). Nowadays I'd love to lay my hands on one of those übersweet Mindstorms programmable blocks and make a couple robots, but I don't have the time nor the money .

Too bad they missed pink-- perfect for sneaking into the enemy's ranks when cherry-blossom sighting!

Anyway, I don't recall many Shinobi in Konoha wearing any black pajamas. Perhaps Naruto & Co. are so stealthy that they can afford to wander around in flashy clothing and still not being seen?

My first Lego sets were from the Basic series. I also had some Systems sets and one Technics set. To be exact, I still have them. The best thing about Lego is that you can let your imagination run wild when you build, I remeber mixing different sets and making for example flying cars with robotic arms. Building all those constructions forced me to think in a technical, three-dimensional, way, so they were also a challenge for the mind.

Ziritrion, you're right about the bad thing about Lego, they are expensive.

Absolutely! I mean, it's pretty high-quality plastic, but it's still just plastic. I suspect they're spending the money on making too many over-specialized molds. I'd rather than 10kg of assorted Basic blocks than my own weight in super-funky specialized castle, spaceship and boat models. The little men are JUST FINE, tho'.

It's just my opinion, but when it comes to Lego, you don't actually pay for the bricks, you pay for the brand and the bricks.

Sadly, that's so true .

One of the things I've always wanted to do was stop-motion animation with Legos or clay, but when I watch these kind of films films I get discouraged. Then again, this guys are professional... I seriously need to learn to manage my time if I ever want to do anything that requires some kind of practice .

I'm sure that with some patience you could achieve a good effect with that kind of animation.
