I apologize for necromancering this thread, but I figured I'd mention a few things. The series is called Teppo Samurai (Stan and Usagi taught me what that meant many years ago through The Dragon Bellow Conspiracy).
There's a model kit available! But the same article states the series has been halted for an indefinite amount of time.

Meanwhile, Disney has a Miyazaki Blu-ray set out next month. It's an Amazon exclusive. That should tide me over.
