Underrated Manga, Part 7: Lost World, Next World, Metropolis

Post by Angelcake »

Osamu Tezuka.

Okay, you know the drill....

Wei! Tezuka's so great! Wei Wei!

But before Black Jack, before Astro Boy, before Kimba the White Lion, Tezuka was just a young manga writer who had just recently found major success with New Treasure Island.

After this manga, he began to put on his sci-fi writer's beret and begin writing and drawing science fiction graphic novels. The first of which was Lost World, followed by Next World, and finally Metropolis.

These graphic novels are masterpieces. They are written with a finese of a master science fiction writer, with the charm of Tezuka's pen.

The four graphic novels (NextWorld is 2 volumes) are now being published in English by Dark Horse. If you ever get the chance, read them!

Sincerely,
Angelcake
