(I apologize for my post-flooding in advance, I assure you, this is the last one)

SHIN-SEN-GUMI:
If anyone is living around southern-California-ish, I highly reccomend this restaurant. The food is excellent (a little pricey, but worth it) and the atmosphere, oh my God, the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with several "IRASSHIMASE!"'s the place is loud, the grill is going the waiters are yelling orders in Japanese. It's great! Speaking of the waiters, all can speak a little bit of English, some more than others and are always friendly and pleasant. You can either sit in the bar area or you can get a very traditional private room. There are a few of these restaurants around the place, one in Fountain Valley for instance, but the one I frequent is on Western and a 190th in Gardena. I give it 4 thumbs up out of 2.

Okay so I thought of adding in my own 2 cents worth to this Topic.
In Madrid there are quite a few Japanese restaurants, most are top dollar joints and I do not know anyone who has dined at one so I cannot judge them. But my fiance and I have discovered this wonderful little restaurant near the centre called Tokio. It's quite a simple place but it does have tatami rooms aswell as normal tables and bar. The tatami has to be reserved before hand and has an extra charge but it's really worth it, you have your own little, screened-in room with low table, cushions and for those not used to kneeling or sitting crossed-legged, the floor is sunken so you can put your feet down and not end up with dead feet by the end of the evening. they also give you a little bell and the moment you ring it someone come to serve you, traditional style.
On the subject of the menu. They have pretty much all the golden oldies.
I very much reccomend, the maki and the sushi, the tempura is excellent, but I think the best dish they do is Sake Teriyaki. It's so good my mouths watering just thinking about it. I have never liked fish, but I have to say I absolutely love this quisine. Nobody selects and prepares fish like the Japanese. It fills you up and satisfies completely but you never get the heavy, bloated feeling that comes with eating too much Western food. My dad absolutely loved it, and that's saying something, he pretty much turns his nose up to anything not British!
Another great thing about this restaurant is that they have special complete meals: choice of two starters, (the miso is delightful), a side dish, (rice or noodles), drinks (including japanese beer), dessert, and coffee or green tea; the main dish that you choose sets the price of the menu. The most expensive menu is the sushi moriawase, which has enough sushi and maki for three people, how my fiance ever get's through it on her own is a mystery? That menu is priced around 20Euros ($26 aprox.) which when you add it up is not all that bad for a Restaurant in Madrid centre, it's actually quite comparable to a normal chinese restaurant.
Also the family who run it are very friendly, last time we visited they gave us each hand crafted/painted chopsticks and holders to take home as a gift, very sweet of them. We have a lot of fun with them as sometimes I'll get their opinion on how to write the kanji for a certain word I'm having difficulty with. It's quite funny to see them all (cooks included) gathering at the bar to argue over the exact way the word should be written.
Well anyway, if any of you are passing thru Madrid, I highly reccomend you check this place out.
