Samurai Jack...

Yo'...Any fans of this cartoon hero? I got hooked on him a couple of years ago. I now have the movie version of the pilot, plus, the first three seasons. The style is edgy and some of the action sequences are really COOL! The DVDs have some neat extras as well. Wouldn't it be SO COOL if Usagi got his own animated series?!!!!! If done just right, it would be really great to see Usagi and his cohorts in action! Of course it wouldn't be for the kiddies...just the teens and adults who are into this universe. Abayo!

I watched a few episodes and always found them entertaining and quite intelligent too.
Jack certainly was a man of few words.
Of course the Duck Dogers spoof of Samurai Jack is hilarious.

Yo'!!! A fellow Canadian!!! I live in Ontario...where are you? I have never seen the Duck Dodgers episode( and I thought that I'd seen 'em all!) Yes Jack is a man of few words,but, when he does speak...he makes it count. And when words won't suffice...his sword speaks for him.

I am a huge fan of Samurai Jack. In fact, I would love to see the creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, do an intro to one of the next trade paperbacks. I think that most of that audience would love Usagi. What do you think Mr. Sakai?
I also hear that there will be a few new episodes of Samurai Jack or a movie coming to cartoon network.

I only saw one episode of Samurai Jack and I was really confused so never bothered watching any more. Is it worth getting?

I've never seen an episode of Samurai Jack. I'm one of those primitives that does not subscribe to cable.

Yeah! I am not the only one without cable! (or satelite or whatever)
However, I did get to see a couple episodes of Samurai Jack and while it is certainly quirky--it was well done.

I think Samurai Jack was the best-crafted animated series since the 90s incarnation of Batman. Tartakovsky is a true genius.
Mr. Sakai, if you are reading, this series is now available on DVD in two seasonal sets. If I recall correctly, Charles Vess turned me onto it. Excellent work!

When I first saw Samurai Jack, I was unimpressed. At some point later I tried again, and I soon needed to see every episode I could. It is absolutely worth making the effort of watching episodes until it clicks with you.
I tend to favor the more epic episodes or the ones that weave genres, but there are some less serious ones.

Just to clarify this, three sets are out. I believe they would need to release a fourth set to complete the series at some point. That could be May, 2007, if previous timing holds.

I really was impressed when I first saw it. I wonder if I still have the promo DVD that they gave us in San Diego before it went on the air...
Anyway, I fell out of watching it because it always seemed that CN was fooling around with the schedule. I thought there was going to be a movie, but I guess nothing came of it.
And now that Mako is gone-- he was so great as AKUUUUUUU!!!!!!
I should get the DVDs.
