ADV Films goes out of business

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

With this and the recent bankruptcy of Central Park Media, it seems like most U.S. anime distributors are going under.

If you want copies of the 60s Yokai movies that ADV released, now might be a good time to get them from Amazon marketplace or Ebay.

I would not be surprised if all of the DVD distributors go under! As soon as a DVD is released, somebody posts it as a torrent file or fileshare or whatever they call it now, and there goes 50% of the DVD sales, out the window. Soon, there won't be a DVD market for anything beyond the latest blockbuster movie release.

I need to hurry and buy the Kekko Kamen OVA before ADV dies! I downloaded it without checking to see if it was licensed, and quite frankly while I would be embarrassed to be seen with a copy of it I already put it on a DVD-R. D:
Hmm... how to best express myself in signature form?

Well, I'm back. I need to get back into the series, been so long since I read volume 7.

You can still get used copies of the first two Heisei Gamera films for a pretty decent price through Amazon Marketplace. Unfortunately, the third film is kind of expensive now.

It looks like new copies of the Yokai set are still available for less than $20.
