Ah, bummer. I haven't read the book but really like the movie.

Saw this on Facebook earlier. Until now, I wasn't aware that the film was based on a book. :oops:

I showed my kids the movie and they really didn't like me for it. "Why did you make me watch it! It's so sad!" It was traumatic for me too. Very powerful. Sorry to hear the author passed away. Peace, maka
