I did not meet Miyazaki, but accepted and invitation to visit Studio Ghibli the last time I was in Japan.BuckRogers wrote:Indeed!Warren wrote:Nice.
Heck, nice is an understatement. It's an excellent piece. (and the rest) Funny how naturally Usagi and Totoro seem to go together.
Stan: Have you ever meet Hayao Miyazaki? Now THAT would be a creative meeting of the master minds, eh???

Wow! That must have been amazing! Do you have any photos that you can (and care to) share? I would LOVE to go there and visit. What an honour.Stan Sakai wrote:I did not meet Miyazaki, but accepted and invitation to visit Studio Ghibli the last time I was in Japan.BuckRogers wrote:Indeed!Warren wrote:Nice.

There were some taken by someone else iirc, but Steve will probably have to fix his links... this was... 2009 I think?

I went to see Stan & Julie at the Beary Best Friends Holiday Boutique at the Holiday Inn in Buena Park, today. https://www.facebook.com/events/445786095539004/
I managed to get a few books sketched and I had a chance to talk with Daniel & Julie.

Wow!
Those are great! I especially love your Gallery Edition!
Funny thing about Saga 7. I had Stan sign and sketch my copy today as well and also chose Sasuke for the sketch! I guess that just confirms that we have good taste.

Haha, that's great! I've been trying to go with characters found in each edition. It was a toss up between Kitsune and Sasuke for Saga 7.jabba359 wrote:Wow!Those are great! I especially love your Gallery Edition!

I love the sketches. Isn't it so cool that we live close enough to take advantage of seeing Stan at his signings. And that stan is willing to sketch in our books for free? Amazing. Thanks for sharing! Peace, maka

Same here. I was debating Kitsune or Sasuke as well, but figured Kitsune has way more appearances, so would likely be a great candidate for a future Saga book sketch, but Sasuke may not have as many chances to be in the stories.maichan wrote:Haha, that's great!
